Introduction. Postal Auction.We are featuring a sales list of up to 500 Railway Tickets from companies within the British Isles. Bidding for the tickets starts at £3, with halves at £2. Fixed Price Luggage Labels will also be available at a later date. The Luggage Labels do not incur the 10% admin charge, but do have £2 postage charge. To order, quote the company and name.
The List will close at 8pm Monday 6th November.
Hard copies will be posted out to those who have requested them.
This list is issued approx. every 3 months. For ease of reference they are listed in alphabetical order. There is also a facility for searching by Company, origin or destination. All tickets are issued, unless shown as U, undated, or A, audit. They are all in good condition, unless shown as creased, or mounted or damaged. C - major crease or creasing c - minor crease M - major mounting/damage m - small mounts. For any further information on dates and condition, please contact me.
Making an Offer for a Ticket or Tickets on the Sales ListOffers can be made by e-mail, or on the downloadable form. here. The successful bidder will be one step above the under bidder. The first of 2 equal bids takes precedence. Nominate the maximum amount to account for other offers being made. Increments will be £1 up to £10, £2 up to £30, and £5 steps from £30 upwards. We will be updating the website at 6pm each day to show the current price of each ticket, so that you can adjust your offer in the light of this. We have made every effort to describe tickets accurately, but if you wish to enquire as to ticket condition, this must be completed at least 24 hours before the closure of the list. If you are not completely satisfied with any ticket when you receive your order, please return it for a refund.
PaymentPlease make your cheque payable to 'Old Railway Tickets', endorsing it “NOT TO EXCEED £xxx”, leaving the amount blank for me to fill in. Alternatively, you may wish to pay by bank transfer or by “PayPal” and full details will be given on request. If you pay by “Not to Exceed” cheque, you will be notified how much your cheque was completed for when we send your successful purchases. Unused cheques resulting from unsuccessful offers will be returned after the closing date. Postage will be free providing the total sales are over £10, if not there is £2 charge.
An administration fee of 10% will be added to your invoice to cover the service we provide. If you wish your tickets to be posted by Special Delivery an additional charge of £7.00 will be made for this.
There will be a Fixed Price ticket lists issued near the end of May.
We shall be supporting the following events over the coming weeks.Our full stock of railway, bus and tram tickets and assorted labels, railway stamps and ephemera will be on sale at the following events. Railwayana, tickets, labels and ephemera wantedIf you have tickets you wish to be sold via this site, either fixed price, or offers, please contact me. We are always interested in buying collections or accumulations of tickets; anything pre-1970, rail, tram and possibly bus will be considered. Some of you may also have Railwayana, labels and other railway ephemera that you wish to dispose of. If you have any surplus material, please let us know and we will arrange to value it and make you an offer.
